Located inside the Tambopata Candamo National Reserve, it’s an exceptional place to observe a wide diversity of wildlife, including, macaws, parrots, gazelles, common kingfisher, caimans, turtles and Giant Otters.

It's about 4.97 miles from Puerto Maldonado, an hour approximately (including 15 minutes down river by canoe). Sandoval Lake is considered the most beautiful Amazon lake, an advised destiny by the specialized magazine Conde Nest. Five farmer’s families live around the lake, they offer host service to tourist in one of their houses, adapted specially for this purpose. Another lodge with a big category is also available. It’s not allows to fish in the lake even for tourist.

The access is for a path of 3.5 km through the secondary forest where a lot of birds, monkeys and a big variety of butterfly can be seen.
